Thanks! I’ve been so on and off the fence over WordPress (my limited knowledge of CSS and php having a lot to do with that) and this has convinced me to give it another go and see if I can’t make it do what I want.

That’s a superb theme, in layout and usability. There’s just a problem. One of the plugins that are needed to run the theme is no longer available. I searched every corner of internet but I couldn’t find it. =\

Hi, my name is Christian Schuster from Germany and I really like Your superb design!

But unfortunately I tried for hours to get images being a part of an slidered articel – I couldn’t find the solution.

Please give me a hand to go over it because im addicted to Your wp theme thestandard. I will translate everything to German and after that I would like to provide that version if You like.

Thanks for Your help and again for Your charming design which touches me.

    Hi Christian

Take a look at these two images of the admin area of the theme:

    http://s51370.gridserver.com/_1212/i/slideshow-ex2.png

Just upload an image and place the path of that image into the Custom Field value, with the Name as “preview”. Choose the category, and make sure that the Image Slider category is selected in the The Standard options page.

That should be it. Let me know if that helps.

  8. Hi Justin,

yesssssss, that was the point. Thanks very much. The round corners of the sliders pictures are not shown in firefox but nice in safari (all latest).

Another Question: The .js files: Are they actual ones? Is there a chance to get the most updated ones on any recource. Or are these files made by yourself? Im asking, because it seems, that the slider does not work 100% – sometimes the placeholder for a image shows up as blank …

Last one: How to get rid of the little date banner on the image (which reflects the posting date of the article) – where do I find this for muting?!

Again: After so long time: TheStandard is a warm designed wptheme.

    Respectfully
    Chris

  11. Hi Justin,

    the main question left:

Where to alter the postings text format (font size and so on) without changing the sliders text format. I couln’t find the apropriate css class – which is different to the sliders class for shure …

This would be a really big help – I searched for hours and …

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Christian

Use the class to change the font formatting specifically for the slider :

    div.mytext ul li p { }

  13. Hi Justin,
    thanks for reply,

but sorry, I was asking NOT for the sliders text formatting – I wanna change the size for the posting text size of the static pages and the articels OUTSIDE the SLIDER …

Believe me, I was searching by myself for around 3 hours – couldnt find the answer.

    Last help, please.

I found the place to alter the
    font size
    and color
    for postings/pages text: layout.css, line 152/15

  16. Hi Justin,

You have to do other things …

I found also the second answer myself:

I altered the loop loke this inside the slide.php

    ID, ‘preview’, $single = true)) { ?>
    <a href="ID, “imglink”, true); ?>”><img src="/timthumb.php?src=&h=245&w=440&zc=1″ alt=”"/>

Thanks for Your attention so far – I hope I can serve someone else with this information.

    Hi Justin.

I think the limit-posts.phps plugin i downloaded from the link mentioned above did not have header information hence it is not showing up in the plugin page for me to activate it. Also this link does not work anymore http://labitacora.net/comunBlog/limit-post.phps

Could you please give a new link to the limit-post plugin with header data.(I feel this should solve the problem)

Where can i send details of my site to you?

    Thanks a ton

    Hi Justin

for the following error Notice: Undefined index: page in C:\websites\400\thehotelfirm.com\wp-content\themes\thestandard\ts\TSfunctions.php on line 222

    I added
    $_GET = 0; // initialized variable at line 221

This got rid of the above error

Looking forward to the new limit-post link with header information and I should be good to go i guess

    Thanks again
